Fizz at Loews Brings Effervescent Fun Sans Spirits
Gone are the days when ordering a spirit-free beverage felt like choosing from the kid’s menu. We want a mocktail, but more. Spirit-free beverages have moved from niche to mainstream, and Loews Kansas City is at the center of the cultural shift.
I first experienced Loews’ Free Spirited program at their rooftop bar, Horsefeather Social, in summer 2024. This program caters to those choosing to imbibe less or not at all with elevated, bespoke beverages. Summer’s Cucumber Crush and Ruby Berry Spritz are super refreshing and carefully considered – not just soda water with a splash of juice! These sober sips featuring ingredients like cucumber shrub, super syrup and fresh fruit juices pair perfectly with small plates and a sunset view of the Kansas City skyline.
In summer 2025, Loews unveiled Fizz by Loews Hotels, the latest era of refreshment to hit the nationwide hotel’s poolside patios and rooftop lounges. Wherever you spot the Fizz Cart, you’ll encounter house-made sodas and spritzes, expertly crafted using fresh, local ingredients. Each of these creations is spirit-free, or with an alcohol add-on at select dining establishments.

Each Fizz beverage is a regional experience, crafted by local Fizz-ologists. At Loews Kansas City, you’ll find the Last Harvest and the Blossom Breeze as Fizz features.
The Last Harvest
The Last Harvest is a vibrant, jewel-toned cocktail balancing juicy sweetness with a refreshing sparkle. Blackberry syrup lends a deep, rich color and lush blackberry flavor, brightened by a squeeze of tart lime juice. A touch of super foam adds a silky, cloudlike layer, while the club soda topper imparts lively fizz. The result is a beverage that feels both indulgent and refreshing, embodying both late summer fruit and the bite of early fall.
Blossom Breeze
The Blossom Breeze is light, refreshing, and a little playful. Bright lime juice cuts through the sweetness of house-made cherry mint syrup, layering juicy fruit with a cool herbal note. A splash of ginger ale adds gentle spice and sparkling lift, making it crisp, bubbly, and effortlessly drinkable. It’s the kind of cocktail that feels like spring in a glass—fresh, floral, and delightfully balanced.

How to Enjoy Fizz at Loews Kansas City
Horsefeather Social, located on the hotel’s 7th floor terrace, is seasonally open Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is where you’ll find the Fizz Cart with featured beverages. When you dine at Horsefeather Social or The Stillwell, you may have hotel parking at 1515 Wyandotte Street validated for up to three hours.
